Our Story
From the Himalayas, with heart
I’m Dr. Kavita Negi — a village girl from Ranikhet who followed plants from the farms of Kumaon to a PhD in Botany, and then back home to build iAura.
Raised by mountains. Shaped by science.
I was born and brought up in a village near Ranikhet, surrounded by terraced fields and the living flora & fauna of the pristine Himalayas of Kumaon, Uttarakhand. Watching my mother and other women cultivate with patience and pride taught me that every leaf holds wisdom.
That curiosity propelled me to pursue Botany and complete a PhD in Botany from the renowned Pantnagar University. Along the way I was honoured with a Young Scientist Award and worked with institutions like ICAR and the Ministry of AYUSH — learning how rigorous science can respectfully walk with traditional knowledge.
“The more I studied plants, the more I felt called back to the people who grow them.”
Back to Kumaon to build iAura
I left the comfort of city labs to return to the mountains — so the world doesn’t miss the best bounty of Kumaon, and so farmers like my mother, who has worked her fields for decades, see fair prices, stability and respect.
“iAura is my promise to our farmers: when we do right by the land, we can do right by livelihoods.”
We are a farmer-first, women-led brand, crafting Herbal Teas, Essential & Wellness Oils and Daily Nutrition that carry the calm of the Himalayas to your home.
Powered by India’s leading incubators
Our startup is funded through the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare via IIM Kashipur (our primary incubator). We are also incubated at IIM Lucknow, IIM Bangalore, IIT Kharagpur and IIT Ropar — an ecosystem that helps us scale Himalayan wellness responsibly.
From online aisles to premium shelves
Today, iAura products are available on major marketplaces such as Amazon and Walmart internationally, and through premium stores in Delhi–NCR like Modern Bazaar and Le Marché.
Every purchase helps us invest back into sustainable agriculture, better post‑harvest practices and dignified rural livelihoods.
